Origin:
  While out stargazing one night, Adelaide saw a shooting star flying across the night sky. She made a wish that her hometown could become free of crime, following her father being rendered comatose after being shot in a robbery gone bad. As if in response to her request, the "star" came careening towards Ada, revealing itself to be a small meteorite, which impacted the ground before her and unleashed an explosion of blue flame that engulfed the terrified young woman. After mysteriously surviving the blast without so much as a singed hair, Adelaide returned to her home. Over the following few days, her powers began to manifest and she decided to use these abilities to fight crime as the super heroine, Saffire.

I admit, the entire reason I made this character was because of the Sapphire/Fire pun. But then I took all day coming up with a name for her. I made her Finnish because I wanted to go with a country that doesn't have many super heroes, and one that's cold too. And I just realised that "Saffire" sounds a little like "Sofia". Massive coincidence.

I may write a full origin story for her now that I've got my mind working.
